Carolyn Quartermaine Born in Cheltenham under the sign of Taurus, after studying at art school, Carolyn Quartermaine graduated from the prestigious Royal College of Arts in London. Her passion for natural textiles such as linen, silk and cotton has driven her to constantly explore decoration, colour and printing technologies. Her passion for 18th Century French books, on the other hand, sparked her interest in handwriting as a form of graphic expression rather than mere literal meaning and words. Her arabesque graphics on coloured silk have earned her a worldwide reputation. For many years, her collaboration with some of the most important and influential interior design and décor magazines has allowed her to develop her own concepts of interior design and fashion in the field of interior décor. In 2000 she began working together with Gabbianelli for the creation of a series of decorations for tiles, which led to the development of the ROSES and LA STANZA DEI FIORI product lines. |
